our story
In 2004, our founder, Rachel Denning began her career at a Kansas City area private school serving students with developmental disabilities. During her tenure she developed a special fondness for these students; she was especially drawn towards helping those preparing to graduate high school. However, she grew to realize that the need for education, guidance, and support for these students does not simply exist when they complete high school. Unfortunately, such assistance can be difficult to find.
It was not only her opinion that this was a problem. She was approached by the parents of several of her students, present and former, who expounded on the need for such help to be made available for their, and other, children. To this end, she created Transition Resources and Coaching in Kansas City, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping such individuals transition from a high school environment to a successful, independent adult life.
